Duties include maintaining school grounds, landscaping, irrigation, and general outdoor upkeep to help keep our campuses safe, clean, and welcoming. Candidates should enjoy working outdoors, be reliable, and work well independently and as part of a team. This role requires and individual who is punctual, respectful, and committed to supporting the school's mission and traditions. RIVERBANK UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT GROUNDSKEEPER/SITE JOB SUMMARY
Groundskeeper, under supervision of the Supervisor of Maintenance/Operations/Transportation or designee, performs a wide variety of specialized and responsible tasks relating to the District Grounds and Maintenance Operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Application of:
District policies and procedures as they apply; Methods and practices of lawn, garden, tool and equipment management; Operation of tools and equipment used in landscape and garden maintenance; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Proper methods and use of sprinklers, valves, controllers, backflows and pumps; Basic knowledge of herbicides.
Ability to:
? Work confidentially ?See for purposes of reading printed matter and observing students ?Hear and understand speech at normal levels ?Communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation ?Lift, carry, push, pull, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, run and crawl ?Perform heavy physical exertion ?Lift 75-100 pounds ?Carry 50 pounds ?Reach in all directions (physically) ?Operate a variety of equipment, tools and machines in a safe and proper manner ?Maintain and verify accuracy and completeness of work requests ?Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others ?Meet schedules and deadlines ?Plan and organize vs utilize time management and organizational skills ?Provide work direction to others as assigned ?Troubleshoot and repair/replace a variety of equipment ?Work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations ?Stand for extended periods of time ?Operate equipment ?Read, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION
May include, but are not limited to: 1.Performs a wide variety of specialized maintenance service tasks; interpret and apply rules and regulations as appropriate. 2.Maintains school equipment throughout the District 3.Maintains a clean, orderly work area 4.Operates a variety of grounds/landscape equipment, tools, and machines 5.Repairs and installs fencing 6.Digs ditches and trenches 7.Monitor all site ground area for safety, maintenance, and improvement 8.May assist in the kitchen as necessary 9.Responsible for periodic grounds chemical spraying activities 10.Performs related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required; Two (2) years of maintenance repair experience and one (1) year of school grounds maintenance or gardening.
Conditions of Employment:
Possession of a valid California Drivers License required
Possession of Qualified Applicator License/Certificate Permit:
