Summer Camp Assistant

Job Overview We are a small gym that teaches gymnastics and Parkour to kids in floyd. We have three upcoming summer camps going from 9am-4pm Camp Dates. June 1st

• 12th, 2026 July 27th
• 31st, 2026 This would be an opportunity to also help teach and run classes as well if you're interested in getting more hours and becoming a more official part of the team.

Presently, this role involves helping the lead instructor watch kids, set up games, teach basic gymnastics skills to kids (we can train you for this) and helping run crafts or other events at camp. The ideal candidate is in good shape, physically able to perform some basic movements. Experience in childcare or sports coaching and a strong background in gymnastics or related activities; martial arts or dance etc... Bonus points if you also know the movements and can demonstrate the basic movements well. Pay depends on your experience level and capabilities. Every coach is ultimately trained and we help you learn spotting, teaching etc... Duties . Ensure the safety of all participants during classes and activities. Which can include spotting new skills, moving equipment or mats and setting up stations for your activities. Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes learning and enjoyment. Communicate with managers about anything you think you may need. Collaborate with other instructors to develop curriculum and programs that enhance overall student and or parental experience. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as needed.

Light cleaning duties:

wiping down mats, vacuuming. Qualifications Experience in childcare, sports coaching, or teaching physical education is preferred but not required. Background in gymnastics or related disciplines such as martial arts, cheerleading, swimming, or climbing is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with children of various ages. A commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous but not mandatory at this time.
