  • Seasonal, Travel nursing, Full-time, Contract Camp Pinecliffe, located in Harrison, Maine, is seeking a compassionate and responsible Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the summer season.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of our campers by providing dedicated transportation support and clinical assistance within our camp health center. The primary focus of this role is managing all medical transportation needs, ensuring campers receive timely off-site medical and dental care. Medical Transportation (Primary Duty) Transport campers safely to and from physician, specialist, and dental appointments at local clinics and hospitals Accompany and supervise campers during all off-site medical visits, maintaining a calm and reassuring presence Coordinate appointment scheduling and logistics with the Head Nurse and Camp Director Maintain accurate records of all transportation activity, including departure/return times and camper status Communicate with parents and guardians when directed by the Head Nurse or Camp Director regarding off-site visits Pharmacy & Medication Management Pick up prescription medications from local pharmacies as needed Verify prescription accuracy upon pick-up (correct camper name, medication, dosage, and instructions) Deliver medications to the camp health center and document receipt per camp medication protocols Maintain confidentiality of all camper medical and prescription information (HIPAA) Health Center Support Assist nursing staff with daily health center operations as directed Support the administration of routine medications under the supervision of the Head Nurse Monitor campers recovering from illness or injury during health center stays Assist with documentation of camper health records and incident reports Participate in morning and evening health checks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing (Maine or compact state license accepted) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate camp vehicles CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date) Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with children, families, and medical professionals Comfort working in a fast-paced, outdoor camp environment with a pediatric population Preferred Prior experience in a camp, school, or pediatric healthcare setting Familiarity with camper health management systems or electronic health records Ability to remain calm and professional in urgent or high-stress situations

Pay is issued on the 15th and 30th of each month.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves a combination of indoor health center work and outdoor/driving activity. The LPN will spend significant time transporting campers off-site in camp vehicles, which may include vans or SUVs. Physical requirements include the ability to assist campers in and out of vehicles, walk across camp terrain, and remain on foot for extended periods. This is a live-in, seasonal, in-person role based at Camp Pinecliffe in Harrison, Maine.
