Summer Event Attendant - Stroh Center Bowling Green State University, United States about 21 hours ago
Location:
Campus, ILLINOIS Summary The Stroh Center Summer Event Attendant is responsible for supporting all summer operations, events, and facility needs within the Stroh Center. This positions blends responsibilities from both the Game Attendant and Stroh Center Attendant positions with a focus on event support, customer service, facility setup, cleanup, and teardown and guest services. Career Readiness Competencies Adjust tone and approach based on audience (e.g., peers vs. supervisors). Analyze problems and propose practical solutions. Contribute to a welcoming, courteous environment for everyone you interact with. Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through. Support others by offering assistance when your workload allows. Essential Functions Provide customer service to all guests, fans, patrons and participants Monitor guests' activity to enforce rules and safety protocols Assist guests with directions, seating, and general venue information Respond to all guests concerns, incidents, or complaints in a timely and professional manner Support access control and restricted area monitoring as needed Provide guests with directions or other venue information Assist with building conversions - daily and for special events Assist with event flow, crowd management, and safety procedures Support emergencies respond protocols when necessary Attend all required meetings and trainings Follow all Stroh Center and Athletics Department policies and procedures Assist full-time staff with operational needs across the facility Maintain consistent communication via scheduling platforms such as Microsoft Teams Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Ability to work during the summer months (including days, evenings, and weekends) Ability to work primarily at the Stroh Center Strong interpersonal and communication skills Previous customer service or event experience preferred Ability to stand for extended periods and life up to 50lbs with reasonable accommodation.
