Job Description
Job Summary Mālamalama Waldorf School is seeking a warm, dependable, and creative Summer Program Leader to guide our Grades Summer Program for children ages 7-13. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with children in a mixed-age setting and can provide calm leadership, healthy rhythm, creativity, and strong supervision throughout the summer program. The Summer Program Leader will be responsible for leading and supervising the daily summer program while creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment rooted in Waldorf-inspired values. Activities may include outdoor play, games, crafts, nature-based experiences, storytelling, artistic activities, and seasonal projects. Responsibilities Plan and lead a healthy daily rhythm for children ages 7-13. Provide consistent supervision and leadership for a mixed-age group of up to 20 children. Lead outdoor play, games, crafts, artistic activities, storytelling, and nature-based experiences. Create a warm, safe, and inclusive environment for all children. Communicate professionally and kindly with parents and school administration. Maintain attendance records and basic program organization. Support smooth daily program operations and uphold school policies and safety procedures. Support smooth daily program operations and uphold school policies and safety procedures. Participate in orientation and required training provided by Mālamalama Waldorf School. Work in alignment with Waldorf-inspired educational values and child development principles. Requirements Must minimally meet qualifications for a Program Leader under DHS BAS requirements through one of the following: 2 years of college education and 6 months experience working with school-aged children; or Child Development Associate (CDA) and 6 months experience working with school-aged children; or High school diploma and 9 months experience working with school-aged children. Experience leading groups of children independently. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to maintain calm, steady leadership in an active environment. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Ability to pass required background clearances. United States work authorization required. Basic computer literacy and organizational skills required. Waldorf teaching experience or training preferred, but not required.
