We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality support for our middle and high school students (Grades 6-12) during the summer session. The primary focus of this role is to deliver Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) as outlined in each student's IEP to prevent academic regression and maintain functional skills.
Key Responsibilities Specially Designed Instruction:
Plan and deliver individualized lessons in core academic areas, social-emotional regulation, and functional life skills tailored to students in grades 6-12.
Progress Monitoring:
Collect, analyze, and document data on student goals to ensure accurate reporting of growth or regression during the summer term
Behavioral Support:
Implement positive behavioral intervention strategies to support students who may struggle with emotional regulation or irritability when faced with challenges
Collaboration:
Work closely with paraprofessionals and related service providers, such as Speech-Language Pathologists, to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
Reporting:
Complete end-of-summer progress reports that provide clear, data-driven feedback for families and the students' school-year IEP teams.
