Supervisory AST Technical Management

You will serve as a Supervisory Technical Management Engineer advising on, coordinating, monitoring, maintaining surveillance over, supervising and/or performing a variety of technical managerial functions of aerospace and aeronautical research, development, design, test, and operations efforts. Work may vary depending on the role and mission responsibilities of the organization to which selected.

Qualifications:

In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-15 , you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Leading multi-disciplined or cross-functional teams involved in scientific or engineering development programs/projects; Leading strategic planning and technical management functions supporting investigative and technology development efforts for the advancement of new aerospace or aeronautical equipment and systems; Coordinating and leading cross-functional teams of experts to develop solutions for problems that impact multiple operations areas (e.g., more than one of the following: addressing critical timelines, technical risk, resource allocation, compatibility of systems and subsystems, and project performance).
