Job Description

Summary Responsible for assisting physicians and PA's with patient care, surgeries, clerical, and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Essential Functions 1. Assist physician and PA in patient's plan of care. 2. Assist physician in surgery. 3. Schedule and pre-certs (if applicable) surgical procedures and outpatient tests. 4. Accurately document patient information into chart. 5.
Fulfill clerical responsibilities to include:
sending/receiving patient information; obtaining diagnostic reports; completing forms for patients as needed; managing charts; and follow up on all patient calls. 6. Educates patients/families regarding proper medical treatment. Required Education & Experience Surgical Technologist Certification preferred. Course in medical specialty; orthopedics and surgery. Maintains CPR certification. Knowledge 1. Knowledge of orthopedic procedures and care. 2. Knowledge of specific assisting tasks relating to orthopedics. 3. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families. 4. Knowledge of operating room policies and procedures. 5. Knowledge of patient safety procedures. 5.
