Sushi Team Member (must have open availability)

On-Site role in West Sacramento, CA Suruki Sushi and Teriyaki Grill is a family-owned Japanese restaurant. We aim to provide flavors of Japan in an over-the-counter restaurant style to the Greater West Sacramento area and to anyone craving Japanese cuisine!

Position Summary/Overview:

The Kitchen Team Member will be responsible for making all food dishes on the Suruki menu. This will involve a mix of both sushi and hot food items and any necessary food preparation involved in the making of the menu items. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in kitchen operations and food handling while contributing to a team-oriented atmosphere. Primary focus is to be a team player who will finish ticket orders in an efficient and timely manner. Potential to be promoted to Cashier/Server. Position Responsibilities

• Other duties may be assigned: Prepare and assemble a variety of dishes, including traditional sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, variety of bento box items, deep fried appetizers and ramen/udon food items Colaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate timely delivery of all food orders Monitor inventory levels of ingredients in the food station for your shift Maintain a clean and organized station including all equipment Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to uphold safety Food preparation tasks Dish washing Position Requirements No prior experience required Experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is strongly preferred Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy items or moving equipment Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization Ability to multi-task Primary shift schedule is Monday•Friday 11:00 am•3:00 pm Must be available to work evenings and weekends The expected hourly pay for this position is $16.
