Job Description

Purvis Gray is seeking a skilled Tax Senior to join our Business Tax Services team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and meaningful tax engagements for privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals. You'll contribute to both compliance and advisory work while supporting Managers and Partners in leading client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

What You'll Do Assist Managers and Partners in planning, executing, and finalizing tax engagements Prepare and review individuals (Form 1040 and 1041), Exempt Orgs (Form 990) partnerships (Form 1065), and corporations (Form 1120 and 1120-S) Contribute to tax research and identify planning opportunities Perform tax compliance work with attention to accuracy and timeliness Communicate with clients and help manage engagement expectations Support the training, supervision, and development of junior staff Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and regulations relevant to assigned industries Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation or JD/LLM a plus CPA license (or CPA eligibility and active pursuit) Minimum 3+ years of public accounting tax experience Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and partnership/corporate tax regulations Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and deliver high-quality work Experience preparing or reviewing Forms 1065 and/or 1120 Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills Preferred Experience Exposure to private company tax compliance and consulting Proven ability to mentor and lead junior staff Familiarity with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational skills and client service orientation
