Immediately Job Description Role Summary The 0.5 District EL Teacher provides high-quality English Learner (EL) instruction aligned to state and district standards for K-12 school students. The teacher supports multilingual learners in developing academic English in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, while promoting access to grade-level content, culturally responsive practices, and inclusive classroom environments.
Core Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned EL lessons that build reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Differentiate instruction for English Learners at varying proficiency levels and in multiple content areas. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor language development and adjust instruction. Provide small-group and one-on-one EL support, including targeted instruction in vocabulary, comprehension, writing conventions, and academic language. Collaborate with grade-level/content-area teams, specialists, and families; participate in data meetings, MTSS/RTI meetings, and IEP/504 processes as appropriate. Implement classroom and instructional behavior supports aligned with
PBIS/SEL
practices. Maintain accurate records, including EL plans, accommodation documentation, and progress monitoring data; communicate regularly with families. Integrate culturally responsive and asset-based practices and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment. Participate in professional learning and implement evidence-based literacy and language-development practices.
