Role Summary:
The 0.5 High School At-Risk Interventionist provides targeted Tier 2 and Tier 3 academic and foundational skills interventions within an MTSS framework, with a primary focus on freshmen identified as at risk. The interventionist uses data-driven, evidence-based practices to accelerate student growth in literacy, core academic skills, and school success behaviors, in close collaboration with the high school team.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide small-group and one-on-one Tier 2/Tier 3 interventions targeting phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing conventions for identified at-risk students. Use universal screening, diagnostics, and ongoing progress monitoring to identify student needs, set goals, and adjust interventions. Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, EL staff, special education staff, and grade-level teams to coordinate supports and align interventions with core instruction. Participate in data meetings, MTSS/RTI meetings, and IEP/504 processes as appropriate. Implement behavior supports aligned with PBIS and SEL practices to build engagement, persistence, and positive classroom behavior. Maintain accurate records, intervention logs, and progress monitoring data; communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding student progress. Integrate culturally responsive practices and maintain a safe, supportive environment for at-risk learners. Participate in professional learning and implement evidence-based literacy and intervention practices.
