Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction and support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a school setting near Lowell, MI. This full-time, onsite contract role spans the 2026-2027 school year, with specific building placement and district assignment details to be determined. Your impact will be felt as you help students with visual impairments thrive academically and develop independence, working closely with school teams, families, and other professionals. You will play a crucial part in ensuring each student receives the educational support required as outlined in their IEP goals and accommodations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Certification and/or licensure in special education for teaching students with visual impairments Demonstrated experience or background as a teacher for the visually impaired, preferably in a school environment Ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and multidisciplinary support teams Strong communication and organization skills to coordinate services and maintain student progress documentationKey Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instructional services tailored to the unique needs of each student with visual impairments Adapt curriculum, materials, and assessments to promote access and participation Coordinate and communicate with educational staff and families regarding student progress and needs Ensure compliance with all IEP/504 requirements and participate in planning meetings as needed Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment promoting independence and achievement If you have a passion for empowering students with visual impairments and the necessary qualifications, this is an opportunity to bring your expertise to an engaging and collaborative educational community.
