Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students with visual impairments by providing specialized instruction and guidance throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers the opportunity to champion accessibility and educational excellence, working directly with students and collaborating with dedicated school staff. In this role, you will deliver tailored educational interventions for students with visual impairments, equipping them with strategies and tools to access their curriculum and achieve their IEP goals. Your expertise will foster greater independence and build collaborative relationships with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
Desired Qualifications:
Proven experience working as an educator for students with visual impairments. Valid teaching certification or licensure in special education/visual impairments. Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and relevant accommodations. Excellent communication skills for partnering with school staff, families, and service providers. Commitment to promoting student independence and access to inclusive learning environments.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students. Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations in coordination with teams. Consult and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school administrators. Offer guidance and resources to classroom educators to create accessible learning environments. Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports as required. This role is a full-time, onsite contract position (37.5 hours per week) for the 2026-2027 school year. Specific district assignment and building location will be confirmed at a later date.
