Position Overview The Director, Coding is a highly technical leadership role responsible for overseeing coding operations while driving data strategy, analytics, and performance optimization across the coding function. This role combines deep expertise in professional and/or facility coding with advanced technical capabilities, including the development of Power BI dashboards and the use of Copilot and Power Platform tools to deliver actionable insights. This leader will partner cross-functionally to translate coding performance data into meaningful analytics, enabling continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Coding Leadership & Operations Provide strategic oversight of coding operations, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and compliance with regulatory guidelines Monitor and improve coding KPIs, including quality, turnaround time, and audit performance Lead coding managers and teams, supporting performance management, development, and engagement Partner with Compliance, Revenue Integrity, and Clinical teams to ensure adherence to coding standards and regulatory requirements Technical & Data Analytics Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide real-time visibility into coding performance, productivity, and trends Leverage Copilot and Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.) to streamline workflows, automate reporting, and enhance decision-making Translate complex data into actionable insights for operational and executive leadership Develop scalable reporting frameworks to support continuous improvement and client performance Performance Optimization & Strategy Analyze trends in denials, audits, and coding performance to identify root causes and improvement opportunities Lead data-driven initiatives to enhance coding accuracy, efficiency, and financial outcomes Partner with leadership to align coding strategy with broader revenue cycle and organizational goals Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a key liaison between Coding, IT, Analytics, Operations, and Client teams Support implementation of new tools, technologies, and integrations that enhance coding workflows Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare coding and revenue cycle management 3+ years of leadership experience managing coding teams Strong expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding methodologies Demonstrated experience building Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions Hands-on experience with Copilot, Power Apps, Power Automate, or similar tools Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills Preferred AHIMA or AAPC certification (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC) Experience leading large, multi-site or national coding teams Exposure to SQL, data modeling, or advanced analytics tools Work Environment & Travel Remote or hybrid depending on business need Travel may be required based on client or operational requirements This position pays between: $121,680- $182,520 Join an award-winning company Five-time winner of "Best in KLAS" 2020-2022, 2024-2025 Black Book Research's Top Revenue Cycle Management Outsourcing Solution 2021-2024 22 Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) MAP Awards for High Performance in Revenue Cycle 2019-2024 Leader in Everest Group's RCM Operations PEAK Matrix Assessment 2024 Clarivate Healthcare Business Insights (HBI) Revenue Cycle Awards for strong performance 2020, 2022-2023 Energage Top Workplaces
