Manager, Data Science Description/ Job Duties:
Work can be performed from anywhere in the U.S. Must be willing to travel to Memorial Hermann corporate headquarters in Houston 5 times per year. Manage a team of data scientists that mine and analyze complex and unstructured data sets using advanced statistical methods for data-driven decision-making. Responsible for leading a data science team to internally serve multiple service lines and provide in-depth data insights for complex business problems by developing custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets. Use advanced analytic techniques to collect, explore, and extract insights from structured and unstructured data. Develop and apply algorithms or models to key business metrics with the goal of improving operations or answering business questions. Provide findings and analysis for use in decision making. Lead complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff. Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to team members. Provide technical supervision/mentoring to other data scientists and trains the broader audience on data science developments. Provide in-depth data insights from structured and unstructured data for complex business problems through use of advanced analytics techniques, predictive modeling, data mining/visualization and pattern analysis tools. Generate recommendations for plans, programs, strategies, policies, and budgets. Responsible for the design of algorithms that require different models/methods to be used together. Responsible for driving data quality throughout the organization. Responsible for managing teams to identify, understand, and resolve data issues and improve efficiency, productivity, and scalability of data processes. Lead the evaluation of data science vendors and tools. Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service. Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; support department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff. Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Bachelors degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related STEM field; 60 months of progressive experience in data science;Travel Requirement:
