As part of Tesla's Vehicle Engineering organization, you'll have access to the data gold mine of design, manufacturing, and vehicle data sources, enabling you to design, develop, and deploy innovative generative AI and machine learning platforms globally. In this role, you will focus on UI and API development for global machine learning platforms. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain Tesla's internal Machine Learning (ML) platforms, incorporating features for model tracking (e.g., experiment logging and lineage), model version control systems, and LLM evaluation frameworks to assess accuracy, bias, and efficiency Architect new systems, databases, and integrations tailored to ML workflows, including real-time monitoring of development and production model performance metrics (e.g., drift detection, latency, and inference accuracy) Integrate with back-end APIs, iterating on payloads and responses in collaboration with back-end developers, while incorporating tools for tracking parameter tuning versions and A/B testing performance to compare model variants Develop interactive front ends using React for visualization, configuration, execution, and monitoring of ML models, including dashboards for real-time performance insights, evaluation results, and experiment comparisons Write elegant, reliable, and scalable Python/Go APIs using REST/gRPC standards to interact with ML systems, databases, and evaluation frameworks Design and develop real-time software systems using Kafka for streaming data pipelines that support model monitoring, A/B testing, and performance tracking Collaborate with machine learning engineers to deploy interactive ML solutions to production through rapid iteration, ensuring robust evaluation, monitoring mechanisms, and best software engineering practices like code reviews and design documentation What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience Expert knowledge and experience in writing Python/Go APIs with REST/gRPC standard Strong attention to details and diligent in unit testing and integration testing practices Experience with SQL and NOSQL database and good knowledge in query optimization, such as MySQL, MicrosoftSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kafka Experience with web technologies and web frameworks (React) Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $140,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
