(SS&T) is seeking a Data Scientist to support the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Joint Exercises, Training, and Assessment Directorate (J7). The Data Scientist provides advanced data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and visualization support for

assessments, dashboards, and decision-support tools. The selected candidate will develop and apply analytical models, text analytics, and visualization methods to enable data-driven decision-making across campaign, operations, risk, and Joint Force assessments. Security Clearance Requirements This position supports classified programs and requires access to classified systems and material. All contractor personnel must be United States citizens and possess a Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information, Nuclear Command and Control/Extremely Sensitive Information, and Special Access Program access prior to commencing work. Key Responsibilities Build and manage structured data systems to ensure accuracy, maintainability, scalability, and secure access in support of assessment and analytics activities. Execute automated monitoring of intelligence, diplomatic, open-source information, after-action reports, and component inputs and provide analytical insights on global trends, risks, and opportunities. Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and advanced analytics to identify patterns, generate forecasts, and support data-driven decision-making for competition, planning in crisis, combat, risk, exercise, and other-directed assessments. Use LLM usage and text analytics to process unstructured data, extract entities, identify themes, and support analytic writing and assessment production. Create tools and dashboards, including visualizations using Tableau and/or Power BI, to support senior leader decision-making and present assessment results clearly. Develop graphic user interfaces and connectors that enable seamless interaction between data repositories and visualization platforms. Assess available datasets, identify opportunities, and apply emerging analytical techniques and visualization methods to uncover new insights and enhance decision-making. Collaborate in iterative cycles with assessment and operations planners to ensure analytics deliverables align with evolving requirements and priorities. Gather input from stakeholders to refine tools, reports, and workflows for improved usability and relevance. Generate clear, tailored reports and disseminate results across multiple organizational levels to inform strategic decisions. Utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning tools, including generative AI approaches, to augment analysis and support advanced assessment methods. Required Qualifications Demonstrated LLM usage and text analytics experience. Experience with MAVEN Smart Systems. Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistical modeling. Experience with visualization methods to convey insights using Tableau and/or Power BI dashboards. In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database schema design. Experience with automatization and data processing using languages like Python. Familiarity with querying external databases via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds. Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Bachelor's degree or higher in data science, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, applied physics, data analytics, or equivalent field. Minimum of 7+ years of combined data science, visualization, and database experience with any of the items listed above. U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience supporting USSTRATCOM, Combatant Command, or Department of Defense analytics, assessment, or AI/ML efforts. Experience integrating data science solutions into secure DoD infrastructure and mission-focused environments. Experience with big data platforms or cloud-based data analysis tools (e.g., Hadoop ecosystem or similar), supporting large-scale, high-velocity data streams. Experience briefing senior leaders on analytic findings, predictive models, and AI/ML-enabled insights.
