Audio Deep Learning Engineer - On-Device AI San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid)

Full-Time Permanent Salary:

$180,000-$240,000 (DOE)

Their proprietary AI accelerator and embedded AI platform enables low-latency, energy-efficient inference across wearables, consumer electronics, robotics, and autonomous vehicles at a fraction of the cost of traditional approaches. As they scale their engineering team, they are looking for an experienced Audio Deep Learning Engineer to develop and optimise advanced audio AI models for real-world embedded deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deploy deep learning and classical DSP audio algorithms on a custom embedded AI platform Build models across speech enhancement, noise reduction, echo cancellation, beamforming, sound event detection, voice identification, and more Drive model compression, efficiency, and optimisation for deployment on low-power hardware Leverage multi-sensor data to improve algorithm performance in challenging real-world environments Contribute end-to-end from research and prototyping through to production deployment on hardware Work closely with customers across consumer electronics, automotive, and industrial sectors to deliver tailored solutions

Ideal Profile:

3+ years of experience in deep learning and/or DSP engineering Strong Python and PyTorch skills across model training, evaluation, and optimisation workflows Solid understanding of DSP concepts and audio signal processing techniques Experience with model compression and efficient deployment on embedded or edge platforms is highly desirable Background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (BS, MS, PhD or equivalent) Passion for solving hard problems in a fast-paced, innovative environment This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of deep learning, model optimisation, and embedded AI - contributing to technology that brings intelligent audio capabilities to everyday devices at scale.
