Raytheon is seeking a seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in AI/ML algorithms to support advanced aerospace sensor programs. You will provide technical expertise and leadership across multiple programs and Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts within Advanced Sensor Programs. This position is part of the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Center in the Airborne Surveillance RF organization. This is an onsite role in Plano, TX. What You Will Do Be a member of the leadership team and manage AI/ML projects on Algorithms team of Advanced Sensor Programs Perform system level performance analysis to evaluate and optimize advanced airborne sensor capabilities Develop, refine, and analyze AI/ML algorithms to support mission-critical aerospace applications Conduct trade studies to compare technical approaches and guide engineering decisions Build statistical models and performance predictions for complex, multidisciplinary systems Execute detailed data analyses following Raytheon engineering processes and best practices Participate in formal and informal peer reviews; identify, track, and resolve technical issues Provide clear, timely task status updates and deliver high quality work products to the chief engineer Interface daily with engineering teammates, other team leads, and cross-functional partners to ensure technical alignment Support customer and program presentations by contributing technical content and insights Collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to drive successful program outcomes Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in experience in AI/ML and one or more of the following areas: Signal Processing Algorithms or Models, Image Processing Algorithms or Models, Detection Theory Knowledge developing and implementing AI/ML signal processing algorithms for airborne surveillance applications, including signal and image processing, physics-constrained modeling, digital communications, or detection and estimation theory Experience using software change management tools, version control systems, and established software development processes Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We Prefer Active DoD Top Secret clearance Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred) Realtime programming for embedded or mission critical systems Programming experience in C or C++, and hands on experience using MATLAB or Python for data analysis. Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
