POSITION SUMMARY
The SAP ByDesign Systems Administrator is responsible for the ongoing administration, support, optimization, and governance of the company's SAP Business ByDesign (ByD) system. This role ensures system stability, data integrity, and effective user support for the existing legacy environment while also contributing to the planning, design, and execution of future SAP ERP implementations (including S/4HANA or other SAP solutions). The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on ByDesign expertise with the ability to support broader SAP ERP transformation initiatives.
JOB DUTIES
SAP Business ByDesign Administration & Support
  • Own day-to-day administration, configuration, and governance of SAP Business ByDesign.
  • Manage user access, roles, work centers, and authorization assignments.
  • Maintain master data integrity (customers, vendors, materials/items, pricing, GL accounts, cost centers, organizational structure, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate with SAP Support or implementation partners as needed.
  • Monitor system performance, apply relevant configuration changes, and ensure compliance with audit and control requirements.
  • Provide end-user support, training, and documentation; act as the primary point of contact for ByDesign-related inquiries.
  • Support integrations between ByDesign and other systems (e.g., CRM, e-commerce, banking, reporting tools).
  • Manage system changes through proper change-control processes and maintain clear documentation. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes within ByDesign across finance, supply chain, sales, procurement, and other modules.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into system configurations or process improvements.
  • Support month-end, year-end, and other critical closing activities.
  • Future SAP ERP Implementation Support
  • Participate in the planning, design, and delivery of future SAP ERP implementations (S/4HANA or other SAP solutions).
  • Contribute to requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, and solution design.
  • Support data migration, testing (unit, integration, UAT), cutover planning, and go-live activities.
  • Assist with system configuration, integration design, and knowledge transfer to the broader team.
  • Help ensure knowledge continuity between the current ByDesign environment and the future SAP landscape.
  • Support change management, training development, and post-go-live hypercare as required.
  • Collaboration & Governance
  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, IT, and external partners/vendors.
  • Maintain system documentation, process maps, and configuration records.
  • Contribute to IT governance, security, and compliance initiatives related to ERP systems.
Qualifications:
Experience with
SAP S/4HANA, SAP
ECC, or other SAP ERP systems. Exposure to data migration tools, integration technologies (APIs, middleware, CPI), or reporting tools (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud). Background in finance, accounting, or supply chain operations. Experience with change management and end-user training. Relevant SAP certifications (ByDesign or S/4HANA) are a plus. Experience in a mid-sized or multi-entity environment.
Competencies:
Technical aptitude with ERP systems and willingness to learn new SAP technologies. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. Customer-service mindset with the ability to translate technical issues into business language. Project coordination and stakeholder management capabilities. Proactive approach to identifying risks and continuous improvement opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who can reliably maintain a critical legacy system today while actively contributing to the organization's future SAP ERP roadmap
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
