Plant Maintenance (PM) Functional Lead / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a greenfield
SAP S/4HANA
implementation. This is a highly client-facing role requiring strong functional leadership, hands-on SAP PM configuration expertise, meeting facilitation, training, troubleshooting, and the ability to guide business users through a significant Plant Maintenance transformation. The ideal consultant will have deep
SAP S/4HANA PM
expertise and experience helping organizations transition from legacy Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) platforms, particularly IBM Maximo, to SAP Plant Maintenance. The consultant should be comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, challenging existing processes when appropriate, explaining complex SAP functionality in practical terms, and providing extensive user support during implementation, testing, training, and adoption. S/4HANA experience is mandatory. Candidates without hands-on
SAP S/4HANA
experience should not be submitted.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the senior
SAP S/4HANA
Plant Maintenance functional lead and subject matter expert. Provide functional leadership and hands-on support for the SAP PM workstream within a greenfield S/4HANA implementation. Provide input into solution design decisions and validate SAP best practices and alternative recommendations. Analyze existing Plant Maintenance processes and recommend improved processes using
SAP S/4HANA
functionality. Configure
SAP S/4HANA PM
functionality to support in-scope business processes. Demonstrate strong hands-on configuration knowledge and troubleshoot functional issues independently. Support S/4HANA Fiori UX transactional processes related to Plant Maintenance. Help business users understand transactional process steps and the appropriate use of SAP functionality. Provide hands-on training, coaching, and knowledge transfer to business stakeholders. Provide extensive user support and guidance during the transition to the new Plant Maintenance solution. Work patiently and collaboratively with users who are adapting to new processes and technology. Troubleshoot Plant Maintenance transactions, master data, configuration, and process-related issues. Support testing activities, including test preparation, execution, defect analysis, and remediation. Provide functional guidance for data migration activities, including legacy CMMS data conversion and validation. Understand data migration challenges associated with transitioning from Maximo or other CMMS platforms to SAP PM. Investigate and troubleshoot data quality, mapping, conversion, and migration issues. Provide input and guidance for reporting requirements. Write functional specifications for key technical development objects. Provide knowledge transfer to stakeholders supporting SAP security role development in collaboration with security resources. Collaborate effectively with technical and functional consulting resources. Facilitate meetings, workshops, design sessions, training sessions, and stakeholder discussions. Communicate complex SAP PM concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Adhere to scope, change management, issue resolution, and implementation governance processes.

Experience supporting SAP implementation, transformation, or modernization initiatives. Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills. Excellent training, facilitation, presentation, and knowledge-transfer skills. Ability to provide hands-on functional guidance while operating at a senior lead/SME level. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work patiently and effectively with business users during organizational and technology transformation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience transitioning an organization from IBM Maximo or another CMMS platform to SAP Plant Maintenance. Experience working on a greenfield
SAP S/4HANA
implementation. Prior experience as a Plant Maintenance practitioner or maintenance operations professional combined with strong SAP PM expertise. Experience with legacy Plant Maintenance system transformation into SAP. Strong understanding of data migration from legacy CMMS platforms into
SAP S/4HANA.
Experience troubleshooting migrated Plant Maintenance master and transactional data. Experience supporting testing and training during an SAP transformation. Experience challenging existing processes and recommending SAP best practices.

Preferred Position Requirements:
Hybrid onsite engagement in Savannah, GA. Local candidates are preferred. Non-local candidates must be willing and able to travel to Savannah, GA Monday through Thursday as required. Travel-related expenses will be paid in accordance with applicable company/client travel policies. Periodic onsite travel will be required, particularly during testing and training phases. Standard per diem applies for eligible travel. This is a highly client-facing Level 5 functional lead/SME position. Consultant must be capable of performing hands-on SAP PM configuration and troubleshooting in addition to providing functional leadership. Strong meeting facilitation, communication, patience, and user coaching skills are required.
