Jefferson Regional Information Systems DepartmentJob Summary:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for Jefferson Regionals information technology initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare IT, data analytics, and cybersecurity. The CIO will lead the development and implementation of IT strategies that align with the organizations mission and vision, ensuring optimal utilization of technology to improve operational efficiency, enhance patient care, and ensure financial stability. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the CIO will oversee a team across all IT functions including clinical and business applications as well as technical services.
Chief Information Officer Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelors or equivalent:
Healthcare administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related field required
Masters Degree:
Healthcare administration, Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related field preferred.

Certifications in relevant information technology fields (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISO)- preferred
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare information technology management.

Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical language to executive leadership, clinical staff, and other stakeholders. Strong understanding of healthcare Information technology standards, regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.), and cybersecurity best practices.

Experience in developing and implementing information technology policies and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. Must handle confidential material with integrity and maintain an ethical and trusting relationship with all levels or staff within and outside the organization
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in a healthcare setting required.

Strong understanding of Electronic Health Record systems, Information Technology infrastructure, data analytics, healthcare technology systems, and cloud technologies. Has led system selections, implementations and optimizations. Has experience with Electronic Health Record implementations is a plus.
