Job Description
Director of Product Location:
Phoenix Reports to:Chief Operations Officer Employment Type:
Full-Time / Exempt Company Overview Columbia Debt Recovery, LLC, dba: Genesis, specializes in collections for the multi-family industry. With over 15 years of combined experience in collections, sales, and customer service, Columbia Debt Recovery provides organizations with innovative, solution-oriented services to regain control of their delinquent accounts. About the Role We are hiring a Director of Product to help drive the vision, roadmap, and specifications for our suite of payments and collections software. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, working alongside the executive team to decide what gets built and to make sure it ships. We work with the largest property management companies in North America, and we're expanding from a services company into a technology company. This is a chance to build and lead an established product team, work in a heavily regulated payments and collections domain, and shape a fast-moving product organization in close partnership with stakeholders and engineering. We're looking for a collaborative leader — someone who brings people along and works within a team, not a lone operator in a silo.Responsibilities:
Build, lead, and mentor the product team — hiring and growing talent as the organization scales. Collaborate with the executive team and key stakeholders to shape the product vision and decide what capabilities should exist across our product lines. Partner closely with and provide direction to the engineering team — setting priorities, unblocking work, and keeping delivery on track. Champion an AI-forward approach, both to how we build products and to what those products do. Define the positioning, thesis, and strategy for each product. Write specifications clear and detailed enough for an engineer or coding agent to act on directly. Define and own the product metrics that matter — adoption, retention, and revenue — staying accountable to outcomes, not just to shipping on time. Stay close to customers and the market so product decisions are grounded in real needs. Own a quarterly roadmap the whole company can plan around, and hold delivery accountable to it. Bring compliance (FDCPA, FCRA, PCI) into product decisions from the start.Create clarity:
translate business goals into actionable, well-sequenced work. What We Are Looking For:
Experience building and leading a team — hiring, mentoring, and growing software and/or product talent.A collaborative leadership style:
builds consensus, works across teams, and brings people along rather than operating in a silo. Technical fluency to speak engineers' language and engage credibly on architecture and trade-offs. A strong track record of managing projects and consistently hitting deadlines. Genuine interest and sharp instincts for building AI-focused software and for how products should be built in the AI era. An inquisitive, experimental mindset toward AI, paired with sound judgment about where it can add real value to our initiatives. Has shipped a B2B product through a regulated third party's approval process — an app marketplace, bank, card network, processor, or regulator. Excellent communication, writing, and planning skills. Can make decisions with incomplete information and adapt plans as new information arrives. Comfortable owning several high-priority initiatives at once. Senior and confident enough to engage and influence at the highest levels of the company. A Plus to Have A network of talented people they could recruit as the team grows. Accounts receivable, payments, or collections/recovery domain experience. Experience integrating with property management systems or accounting software. What We Offer:
Competitive base salary range $96,000.00- $102,000.00 plus performance incentives. Health, dental, and vision benefits, plus a 401(k) with company matching. The opportunity to have a direct impact on the product and the business. Growth opportunities. Join us to shape innovative solutions that make a real impact! We value energetic leaders who thrive on collaboration, strategic thinking, and delivering excellence through agile practices.
