As CTO Radio Networks, you'll lead the strategy, design and Radio Frequency (RF) engineering behind our two-way radio systems, point-to-point microwave links, public safety radio networks and simulcast systems. You'll bring deep radio public safety expertise to a team responsible for keeping first responders and critical infrastructure connected - reliably, and in full regulatory compliance. This is a role for someone who wants ownership - leading a technical group at the center of a rapidly growing public safety and radio network practice, with the scope to shape not just where the technology goes next, but the team that gets it there.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the technology roadmap across two-way, microwave, and public safety radio systems. Lead design, deployment, and optimization of Motorola P25 trunked, simulcast, and conventional systems. Identify and integrate emerging communications technologies into our service offerings. Manage point-to-point microwave system engineering and performance validation. Direct RF design and coverage analysis using Atoll, Pathloss, and EDX. Ensure ongoing compliance with FCC regulations, P25 standards, and public safety requirements. Resolve escalated technical issues, including after-hours incident response. Manage LAN/WAN networking (routers, switches, firewalls) supporting radio and RF systems. Stay current with emerging trends in RF technologies and recommend strategic initiatives for continued improvement. Lead and develop a technical and engineering team, setting priorities, mentoring staff, and building bench strength as the group scales. Serve as a technical voice in RFPs, proposals, and client presentations. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation. Maintain and grow strategic partnerships with Motorola and other key vendors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Master's degree is a plus. 15+ years of experience in radio communications and microwave systems. Significant hands-on experience in Motorola radio systems (P25 conventional or trunked, and simulcast). RF systems knowledge (transmitters, receivers, antenna networks), telephony/data circuits, packet-switching. Working knowledge of FCC regulations and public safety standards. Proficiency in RF propagation tools (Atoll, Pathloss, EDX). Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
