CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

St. Louis, MO (HQ) Build Something From Scratch American Medical Administrators is a fast-growing, multi-vertical healthcare organization — 100+ skilled nursing facilities, 60+ physician practices, plus surgery centers, labs, and pharmacies across 11 states. We're growing fast, organically and through acquisition. And for the first time, we're bringing technology leadership in-house. This isn't a maintenance role. It's a build. Today, IT runs through an outsourced partner. You'll decide what an internal function looks like, build it, and pull services in-house on your own timeline. You'll get aging infrastructure that needs a modernization roadmap, an active acquisition pipeline that needs a repeatable playbook, and a leadership team ready to fund a real strategy. If you're equally comfortable pitching a capital plan to the finance committee and troubleshooting a network at 11 p.m. mid-conversion, this is your seat.

YOUR FIRST YEAR 1.

Build the team. Design the operating model and staffing plan for internal IT — then recruit and hire it. 2. Build the roadmap. Assess infrastructure across every division and deliver a sequenced, costed modernization plan. 3. Bring it in-house. Take over managed-services functions at the pace you set.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

The org. Stand up IT from the ground up — operating model, service catalog, staffing, support standards, and SLAs across ~160 locations. Security & compliance. Serve as HIPAA Security Officer and run the enterprise security program: risk, IAM, endpoint/network security, incident response, business continuity — in lockstep with the Chief Compliance Officer. Platforms. Steward EHR environments across skilled nursing and physician practices, plus tech for labs, pharmacies, and surgery centers. Infrastructure. Modernize network, endpoints, telephony, servers, cloud, backup, and DR — and set the standards new and acquired sites build to. Growth. Lead tech diligence and integration for every acquisition; build the conversion playbook everyone else follows. The budget. Build IT's operating and capital budget from zero, with clear business cases and TCO behind every ask.

WHAT YOU BRING

10+ years of progressive tech leadership, mostly in healthcare Prior CIO / divisional

CIO / CTO / VP

of IT experience in a multi-site healthcare organization Deep

HIPAA/HITECH

knowledge and readiness to serve as Security Officer A track record of building internal IT teams and running operations at scale Strong chops in cloud, cybersecurity, and infrastructure modernization Experience integrating acquired locations across multiple sites and states

NICE TO HAVE

Post-acute, physician practice management, or hospital experience Background moving from managed services to in-house IT Familiarity with PointClickCare, eClinicalWorks, or comparable EHR platforms Experience with Azure and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem Production support for custom or internally developed apps CISSP, HCISPP, or CHCIO certification

COMPENSATION
