Executive / Technology Position Summary The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for leading the company's overall technology strategy, infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and technology team. As a large online firearms retailer, the company relies heavily on technology to support e-commerce, inventory management, fulfillment, finance, customer service, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day operations. The CTO will ensure these systems are secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with the company's continued growth. This position requires a hands-on technology leader who can establish long-term strategy while remaining actively involved in solving technical and operational challenges. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the company's overall technology strategy and roadmap. Lead the internal IT, systems, development, and technology teams. Oversee the company's e-commerce technology platform, ensuring reliability, performance, scalability, and security. Provide strategic oversight of Oracle NetSuite , including system administration, integrations, enhancements, and ongoing optimization. Ensure reliable integration between NetSuite, e-commerce, warehouse, shipping, payment, customer service, and other business systems. Oversee corporate IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, endpoints, identity management, backups, and disaster recovery. Develop and maintain the company's cybersecurity strategy, policies, and incident-response capabilities. Partner with Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Compliance, and other departments to identify opportunities for technology-driven process improvements and automation. Ensure technology systems appropriately support firearms-industry regulatory and compliance requirements established by the company's Legal and Compliance teams. Establish standards for system architecture, software development, integrations, documentation, change management, and data governance. Manage technology vendors, contracts, licensing, budgets, and major technology projects. Develop reporting, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities to improve decision-making across the organization. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend investments that improve efficiency, customer experience, security, or scalability. Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing technology organization. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in information technology, software, infrastructure, or related fields. 5+ years of technology leadership experience, preferably at the Director, VP, or CTO level. Experience supporting a high-volume e-commerce, retail, distribution, or similarly complex organization. Strong working knowledge of Oracle NetSuite and ERP-driven business operations. Experience with e-commerce platforms, enterprise integrations, APIs, and business-critical systems. Strong understanding of cybersecurity, networking, cloud infrastructure, identity management, and disaster recovery. Experience managing technology teams, vendors, budgets, and large-scale projects. Strong understanding of data management, reporting, and business intelligence. Experience in the firearms, shooting sports, outdoor products, or another regulated industry is preferred but not required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
