Job Description

Temp-to-hire 1st Shift
  • 7:30AM-4:00PM Monday
  • Friday $25
  • $29/Hr Position Overview The Water Jet Programmer / Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC water jet machines to cut a variety of materials according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role ensures precision cutting, maintains machine efficiency, and supports production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Program CNC water jet machines using appropriate CAM software based on engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Set up and operate water jet cutting equipment to produce precision parts.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Optimize cutting paths to maximize material usage and machine efficiency.
  • Perform machine adjustments and minor maintenance to ensure proper operation.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Communicate with engineering and production teams regarding programming changes or production issues. Qualifications
  • Experience programming and operating CNC water jet machines.
  • Familiarity with CAM software and CNC programming concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment preferred.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Preferred Skills
  • Experience with nesting software for material optimization.
  • Knowledge of different materials such as metals, composites, plastics, and alloys.
  • Previous aerospace or precision manufacturing experience. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
