POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Numerical Control (NC) Programmer to develop precise CNC machining programs and toolpaths using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. This position combines CNC programming, machining knowledge, CAD/CAM expertise, and an understanding of cutting tools and material properties to support the efficient production of high-quality, high-precision components. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with G-code, M-code, CNC machining, CAD/CAM software, and GD&T , with the ability to translate complex engineering drawings and 3D models into accurate machining programs. This individual will also optimize tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters while troubleshooting programming and production-floor issues. Experience with WorkNC, CATIA, and Siemens NX is particularly relevant for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Generate precise CNC G-code and M-code from technical engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Utilize advanced CAD/CAM software to develop CNC programs and machining toolpaths.
• Program, simulate, verify, and debug CNC toolpaths prior to and during production.
• Conduct program test runs to validate machining processes and finished-component requirements.
• Analyze inspection data and make necessary program or machining adjustments to achieve strict geometric tolerances.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, and 3D CAD models.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements when developing and modifying CNC programs.
• Optimize spindle speeds, feed rates, cutting parameters, and tooling selection to improve machining performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times and improve overall machining efficiency.
• Optimize machining processes to minimize material waste and extend cutting-tool life.
• Construct and modify 3D CAD models and surfaces using industry-standard CAD platforms.
• Utilize CATIA and Siemens NX to support CAD modeling and CNC programming requirements.
• Utilize CAM software such as WorkNC to develop and optimize machining programs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, programming, and production-related issues on the manufacturing floor.
• Work directly with engineers and machinists to resolve CNC programming and machining issues.
• Make program and process adjustments based on machining results, inspection data, and production requirements.
• Maintain a high level of mathematical, dimensional, and operational accuracy throughout the programming process.
• Communicate technical issues, program changes, and machining requirements effectively with engineers, machinists, and management.
• Support production requirements and work overtime during weekdays and weekends when necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Basic Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of CNC G-code and M-code programming .
• Experience with CAD/CAM software , preferably WorkNC or a comparable CAM platform.
• Proven experience within CNC machining, manufacturing, or an equivalent technical production environment .
• Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models .
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) .
• Understanding of cutting tools, machining parameters, material properties, and CNC machine capabilities.
• Experience developing, simulating, troubleshooting, and modifying CNC machining programs and toolpaths.
• Ability to analyze inspection results and adjust machining parameters to achieve required tolerances.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving mechanical, programming, and production-floor issues.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to mathematical and operational accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers, machinists, and management.
• Ability to work within both a professional manufacturing office and production-floor environment.
• Ability to work a full-time Monday-Friday schedule with flexibility for weekday and weekend overtime based on production requirements. Additional Qualifications
• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent combined with a recognized post-secondary technical certification may be considered in place of an associate degree.
• Experience with WorkNC highly desirable.
• Experience constructing and modifying 3D models and surfaces using CATIA .
• Experience with Siemens NX .
• Strong knowledge of CNC tooling selection, spindle speeds, feed rates, and machining optimization.
• Experience reducing machining cycle times, minimizing material waste, and improving cutting-tool life.
• Experience supporting high-precision manufacturing and close-tolerance components.
• Ability to stand for extended periods while supporting production-floor activities.
• Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds .
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while working within the manufacturing environment.
