Sets cutting tools, reads and interprets Cad data to develop cutter paths in WORK-NC software and execute programs to remove material on the CNC mill to finished quality. Mount electrodes and set up and pick up jobs. The Electrical Discharge Machine Programmer/Operator plans and runs EDM machine to best remove material based off of the mold design /Engineering changes or correction. Check finished work pieces, keep records; maintain equipment and supplies. The Electrical Discharge Machine Programmer/Operator maintains quality and safety standards.
Requirements:
The Electrical Discharge Machine Programmer/Operator plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; plan sequence of events to best remove material. Programs mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry, proving part programs. Sets-up mills by installing and adjusting part holding devices, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and stock pushers, indicating vices. Mount electrodes. The Electrical Discharge Machine Programmer/Operator verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to international standards. Maintains specifications by observing, cutting, including burning operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Maintains continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. Maintains Quality Maintenance System. Functional and technical skills, material, cutter selection, removal techniques. Ability to troubleshoot issues. Ability to properly use shop equipment, controllers, Work-NC software. Attention to detail. Must have excellent communication skills; interpersonal, listening, verbal and written.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
