This is a hands-on machining role for someone who can independently machine parts from blueprint to finished product—not simply operate pre-programmed CNC equipment. The ideal candidate has experience programming, setting up, troubleshooting, selecting tooling, and maintaining tight tolerances while producing quality parts with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on machinist experience (not machine operator experience) Ability to independently set up and run manual and/or CNC mills and lathes Experience creating, editing, or troubleshooting CNC programs (G-code or CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand GD&T Strong understanding of machining processes, feeds, speeds, tooling, and workholding Ability to hold tolerances of ±0.001" Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and height gauges Ability to identify and properly use common machining tools such as boring bars, end mills, drills, inserts, reamers, and tapping tools Familiarity with specific CNC machine brands (Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Doosan, Mori Seiki, etc.) and their controls Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to adjust programs, tooling, and offsets to maintain part quality High school diploma or GED Ability to pass a background check and drug screen Preferred Qualifications Experience with Fusion 360 or Mastercam Manual machining experience Horizontal lathe experience Experience producing parts from print to completion with minimal supervision Responsibilities Machine parts from blueprint to finished product Program, set up, and operate CNC and manual machines Select appropriate tooling and determine proper feeds and speeds Perform machine setups, tool changes, and work offset adjustments Inspect parts throughout production using precision measuring instruments Troubleshoot machining and quality issues independently Maintain tight tolerances and produce high-quality parts Keep work area clean and follow all safety procedures This Position Is NOT a Machine Operator Role Candidates should have experience beyond simply loading material and running pre-written programs.
