A Systems Support Specialist provides technical support for the computer and communications systems at a business or organization. Installs and configures computer software, hardware and equipment, and provides troubleshooting for network issues. Manages documentation, maintenance and repairs. Position Overview BLOC Resources is seeking a technically skilled and safety-focused Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Specialist 1 to support power generation operations in Wilsonville, Alabama . This position will provide technical support for plant instrumentation, control systems, electronics, program configuration, and electrical maintenance activities . The I&C Specialist will work with plant personnel and technical teams to maintain, troubleshoot, and support critical control systems used in power generation operations. The successful candidate should have hands-on experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Turbine Control Systems (TCS), and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and possess a strong understanding of industrial instrumentation and plant control systems. Experience with Emerson Ovation is highly preferred, while GE Mark VIe experience is considered a strong plus. Key Responsibilities Instrumentation & Controls Support Support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of plant instrumentation and control systems. Troubleshoot instrumentation, electronic, electrical, and control-system issues. Assist with configuration, testing, calibration, and maintenance of plant control equipment. Support DCS, TCS, and PLC-based control systems . Evaluate control-system performance and assist with identifying equipment or configuration issues. Support plant boiler controls and associated instrumentation. Review system information, alarms, trends, and operating conditions when troubleshooting equipment. Assist with maintaining reliable operation of critical plant control systems. Support control-system modifications and configuration changes as assigned. Work with plant operations and maintenance personnel to resolve instrumentation and controls issues. Make sound technical decisions when complete information may not immediately be available. Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate. Coordinate troubleshooting activities with operations, maintenance, engineering, and other technical personnel. Document findings and corrective actions as required. Apply a systematic approach to troubleshooting plant systems and controls. Required Qualifications Candidates should meet one or more of the following education and experience pathways: Four-year degree in a relevant technical discipline; or Two-year technical certification; or Associate degree in electronics or a related technical discipline; or Equivalent combination of relevant technical education and hands-on experience. Compensation Pay Rate:
$35.00 - $37.40 per hour Final compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, education, technical capabilities, control-system knowledge, and overall alignment with the assignment.
