Job Summary:
The Tier 1 MCAD Support Engineer (Siemens NX) provides technical support for Mechanical CAD (MCAD) systems using Siemens NX in an enterprise engineering environment. The role focuses on user onboarding, access provisioning, installation, licensing, environment configuration, basic NX usage support, and NX PLM (Teamcenter) connectivity.
Responsibilities:
Serve as first point of contact for Siemens NX user issues via Jira tool
Resolve common Tier 1 issues:
NX application launch failures
Login and access problems
License checkout and expiration errors
Provide basic "how?to" support for NX users:
3D Parts Files
Assembly files
Drawing files
Install and configure approved Siemens NX versions per enterprise standards
Perform basic Siemens NX license diagnostics (FlexLM)
Validate workstation readiness (OS, graphics, memory, VPN)
Log, track, and update incidents using Jira
Support new mechanical engineer onboarding for Siemens NX
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge with the Operating systems Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
Experience with Networking and Software configuration Management.
Basic understanding of Siemens NX (Design and Drafting modules)
Basic familiarity with Teamcenter or PLM systems
Awareness of NX licensing concepts (node?locked, floating)
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
Minimum 3 years of experience in IT Support / Siemens NX in engineering environment
