Type:

full-time IT Help Desk Specialist | $50-$60/hr | Temp-to-Perm | San Ramon, CA We are seeking an experienced IT Help Desk Specialist to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis. This position will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to employees across the organization, troubleshooting a variety of hardware, software, application, and access-related issues. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of hands-on IT support experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Provide responsive Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to employees, both in person and remotely. Serve as a primary point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues and provide clear, professional assistance. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues involving Windows-based computers, applications, connectivity, user access, and general desktop technology. Provide day-to-day support for Microsoft 365 applications , including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and related tools. Troubleshoot and support OneDrive and Point , including file access, synchronization, permissions, and basic user issues. Support users with Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam , including troubleshooting application functionality and document-related issues. Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including setting up equipment, applications, accounts, and access for new employees. Install, configure, and maintain software and basic hardware as needed. Manage and prioritize incoming help desk requests while ensuring issues are resolved within appropriate timeframes. Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and user interactions within the applicable ticketing or IT support system. Escalate complex or recurring technical issues to the appropriate IT team while maintaining ownership through resolution. Assist with maintaining IT equipment, workstations, peripherals, and other end-user technology. Provide basic guidance and training to employees on software, systems, and technology best practices. Partner with internal IT team members and other departments to identify recurring issues and improve the overall user experience. Maintain a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and customer service when working with employees at all levels of the organization. Qualifications 2-3 years of professional experience in an IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, IT Support Specialist, or similar role. Hands-on experience providing both Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support . Strong experience supporting Windows-based operating systems and desktop environments . Proficiency with Microsoft 365 , including common applications and user troubleshooting. Experience supporting OneDrive and Point in an end-user environment. Experience troubleshooting and supporting Adobe Acrobat . Experience with Bluebeam is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of basic desktop hardware, software, networking, user accounts, and access troubleshooting. Ability to diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and determine appropriate solutions or escalation paths. Experience working with a ticketing/help desk system and maintaining accurate documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Excellent customer service skills and a patient, solutions-oriented approach to troubleshooting. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple support requests and competing priorities. Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a broader IT team. Ability to work onsite Monday-Thursday in San Ramon , with Friday remote . Ability and willingness to commute to Palo Alto one day per week is a major plus . Reliable, proactive, and adaptable with a strong attention to detail.
