Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and support of computer systems, network infrastructure, software applications, and technology equipment supporting the Education & Training Section. This position provides technical support, maintains system reliability, supports technology improvements, and ensures uninterrupted operations. Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and support computer systems, servers, network infrastructure, wireless networks, and technology equipment. Install, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral devices. Provide technical support to users and resolve system, network, software, and equipment issues. Maintain system documentation, backup and recovery procedures, inventories, and activity reports. Monitor system performance, data integrity, and information security. Support technology planning, equipment lifecycle management, and infrastructure improvements. Research and recommend hardware, software, and technology solutions. Train personnel on software applications, technology tools, and security procedures. Maintain accountability for assigned technology assets and equipment inventories. Respond to emergency system outages and provide technical support as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum one (1) year of current experience within the past five (5) years supporting information technology systems. Current CompTIA A+ certification. Current CompTIA Security+ certification. Knowledge of computer and network security principles. Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience supporting Microsoft Windows-based systems, hardware, software, and networks. Experience with AFAEMS, Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) systems, and My Learning CDC Assessment System is desirable but not required.
Work Classification:
Part-Time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-12:30 PM (25 hours per week).
Place of Performance:
On-site, Travis Air Force Base, California.
