In this role, you will be one of the first points of contact for technical issues and will handle a large portion of the everyday support queue. You will provide essential assistance with hardware, software, Microsoft 365, user accounts, printers, workstations, network connectivity, VoIP systems, and other common technology issues. Your proactive approach and technical curiosity will help keep users productive and connected across a variety of customer environments. Because ABSO Technologies operates as a Managed Service Provider (MSP), you will have the opportunity to work with many different businesses, organizations, technologies, applications, and network environments rather than supporting only one internal company. What You Will Be Expected to Handle An ABSO Tech I should become comfortable independently handling the majority of common day-to-day support requests, including: Windows 10 and Windows 11 troubleshooting Microsoft 365 support Outlook troubleshooting Microsoft Teams support OneDrive support Microsoft Office application issues Password resets Basic Microsoft Entra ID / Microsoft 365 user administration Basic Active Directory user administration Printer and scanner troubleshooting Desktop and laptop troubleshooting PC setup, configuration, deployment, and replacement Software installation and troubleshooting Basic malware and security troubleshooting Basic Wi-Fi and network troubleshooting New-user onboarding Employee offboarding Remote technical support using tools such as NinjaOne, Splashtop, and similar platforms Basic VoIP phone support Hardware troubleshooting Mobile-device support Documentation and ticket notes Customer communication Knowing when an issue should be escalated rather than spending excessive time guessing at a solution Duties and Responsibilities Respond promptly and professionally to help desk tickets, phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries. Deliver clear and effective technical support for common hardware, software, account, application, and network issues. Troubleshoot and resolve problems involving desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other peripherals. Diagnose and resolve common Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating-system problems. Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications. Perform password resets and basic Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID user administration. Assist with computer-management tasks such as user account setup, Active Directory administration, and basic permissions changes. Set up, configure, replace, and deploy desktop and laptop computers. Install and troubleshoot software applications. Assist with hardware upgrades, equipment troubleshooting, and basic repairs. Diagnose and resolve common network-connectivity issues involving: LAN connectivity
TCP/IP DNS DHCP
Wi-Fi VPN connectivity Network adapters Internet connectivity Assist with troubleshooting routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and other network infrastructure when appropriate. Provide basic support for VoIP phones, user configurations, handsets, and connectivity issues. Assist with Windows Server, macOS, Linux, networking, and infrastructure-related issues under the guidance of more experienced technicians when necessary. Perform new-user onboarding, including workstation setup, account configuration, Microsoft 365 setup, application installation, and access configuration. Assist with employee offboarding, including account access changes, equipment handling, and other required technical tasks. Provide remote support to customers using NinjaOne, Splashtop, and other remote-management tools. Manage support tickets efficiently through the help desk system.
Maintain accurate ticket documentation describing:
The customer's issue Troubleshooting performed Actions taken Customer communication Resolution Required follow-up Keep customers informed regarding the status of their technical issues. Provide technical guidance to users with varying levels of technical experience. Assist with basic malware, endpoint-security, suspicious-email, and cybersecurity-related troubleshooting. Follow established security procedures when handling potentially compromised accounts or computers. Collaborate with other ABSO Technologies team members when additional technical assistance is needed. Help identify recurring issues and communicate them to senior technicians so longer-term solutions can be evaluated. Participate in workstation deployments, software installations, equipment replacements, office moves, network projects, and other IT projects. Provide onsite support at customer locations when required. Requirements Approximately 0-2 years of professional IT experience in technical support, help desk, desktop support, computer repair, or a related role. Candidates with less professional experience may still be considered if they demonstrate strong technical ability, customer-service skills, curiosity, professionalism, and the ability to learn quickly. Strong understanding of computer hardware and basic operating-system troubleshooting. Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications. Basic understanding of computer-networking concepts including:
LAN/WAN TCP/IP DNS DHCP
Wi-Fi VPNs Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, or user-account administration is preferred. Ability to troubleshoot common software, hardware, printer, and connectivity problems. Ability to follow a logical troubleshooting process instead of randomly attempting solutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical customers. Strong customer-service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and support requests while maintaining a professional and positive attitude. Ability to document technical work clearly and accurately. Ability to work independently on routine support requests. Ability to recognize when an issue should be escalated to a more experienced technician. A proactive learner who is interested in continuing to develop their knowledge of networking, Microsoft technologies, cybersecurity, cloud services, mobile-device management, and other emerging technologies. For an ABSO Tech I, customer service is almost as important as technical skill . Technology can be taught. It is much harder to teach someone how to remain professional, communicate clearly, listen carefully, and successfully work with a frustrated customer.

We expect technicians to investigate problems and attempt reasonable troubleshooting steps. However, we do not want someone spending two hours randomly attempting fixes because they are afraid to ask for help. A successful ABSO Tech I should be able to determine: "I have gathered the information, performed the appropriate basic troubleshooting, documented what I found, and this issue now requires additional expertise." When escalating an issue, the technician should clearly document what has already been attempted so the next technician can continue efficiently.
