Reporting to the IT manager, the IT Network Engineer is responsible for network security the network operation, including core network infrastructure and devices such as virtual desktops/servers, switches, routers, wireless access points, telephony, cable management and end user support via the help desk ticketing system. This position requires strict adherence to the Ironworker Employees' Benefit Corporation's Security and Privacy Policy and Employee Confidentiality Agreement. Responsibilities and Duties Maintain cyber security policy and annual survey (internal/external) for compliance Effectively manage time in executing assigned tasks across multiple projects Research and recommend upgrade or migration of legacy hardware and appliances into current platforms and best practices Network operations Firewall Intrusion prevention and detection Internal/external network security Server deployment/support/upgrade Desktop Support, Physical/VMware VDI deployment/support/upgrade Anti-Virus support/mitigation Microsoft active directory and group policy Backup and Recovery WSUS support/testing/sandbox VSphere 6/7 management/support/upgrade Office 365 management/support Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills - able to articulate complex concepts in a clear/concise way Extreme attention to detail Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives Take ownership of assigned individual and team tasks Document network policies and procedures Disaster Recovery Management and Testing Anticipate and proactively mitigate security and network operation issues to reduce risks to the network and business operations Plan, implement, and maintain security measures for the protection of network systems and company information Committing to providing superior customer service and communicating technical issues written and oral Operating in high pressure situations and successfully handling multiple priorities while remaining positive and flexible Responsible for hardware standards, system images, desktop and application virtualization, system patching, anti-virus/spyware, application packaging and system management tools Research and test new technology, hardware, software and recommend implementation plans for new technology Participate in the On-Call rotation for security and network operation; duties including being available 24x7 to respond to emails and phone calls during on-call period via mobile device IT Helpdesk and Customer Service Travel within California, Arizona and Nevada is required IT Security and Network Engineer will be required to work on site no telecommuting Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar discipline; minimum six year's technical experience in a desktop support/system administration environment; and/or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong understanding of core Internet technologies, i.e. DNS, mail transport, TCP/IP and network file systems. Strong understanding of various network technologies including cabling topologies, wireless networks, gateways, bridges, routers, switches and interconnecting LAN/WAN communication protocols. Strong Cisco ASA Firewall, Switches and Routers, endpoint security Strong understanding of EMC Dell technologies including Backup and SAN Strong understanding of VMware vSphere and VMware Technologies Strong customer services skills and help desk ticketing system Strong troubleshooting security, network and desktop hardware and technologies Strong understanding of Duo two-factor authentication Must have thorough understanding of Windows domain structure and Active Directory.
