College Degree:
Major in Information Technology field and/or industry certification is preferred. 2 Years' experience in an IT Technical support role; experience in an educational environment is preferred. Experience in using IT Help Desk software to organize, update, resolve and document end-user requests is preferred. Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems and common Office applications and Browsers. Knowledge of basic networking. Experience troubleshooting and repairing diverse devices. Ability to logically troubleshoot and resolve technology issues. Strong interpersonal skills, especially with non-technical users. Self-motivated and strong work ethic.REPORTS TO
Supervisor of Technology Infrastructure and OperationsJOB GOAL
Provides technical and software support for the Bethel Schools' technology programs at the end user level. Helps to maintain an updated, accurate inventory of all IT technology and repair parts. Maintains and repairs hardware and software. Deploys and integrates new hardware and software. Assists and backs up the Supervisor of Technology Infrastructure and Operations.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the technology support team, Technology Support Specialists may be assigned to any school facilities within the District as appropriate to meet the team's support needs, under the coordination of the Supervisor of Technology Infrastructure and Operations. Utilizes the District's Help Desk software to investigate, accurately record, and track all support issues, and document their resolution. Troubleshoots, investigates, and resolves software and hardware issues and provides assistance and training to staff and students to facilitate a timely resolution and support for our digital learning environment. Assists the Supervisor of Technology Infrastructure and Operations in maintaining and updating an accurate inventory of all user devices, technology equipment, and repair parts using appropriate databases to accurately track all assets. Installs, deploys, and maintains workstations, laptops, mobile devices, software, and peripherals. Performs repairs on all IT equipment as appropriate, and acts as a contact to repair vendors and hardware manufacturers to facilitate timely repairs. Evaluates damaged equipment to determine cause of damage. Escalates complex technical issues to the Supervisor of Technology Infrastructure and Operations Mentors BPS students in the Technology Pathways program and IT Student Technicians. Assists the Supervisor of Technology Infrastructure and Operations and acts as their backup in daily Help Desk operations and coordination of Student Technicians, as assigned. Maintains accurate and relevant documentation. Performs other responsibilities as deemed necessary.TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
