August 20, 2026 Required Certification Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent A+ Certification preferred Valid Connecticut Driver's License General Scope of Function The primary responsibility of the computer technician I is to support and maintain both administrative and instructional computers, software, and networks within a school building. This person shall also implement the mission and vision of the New Milford Public School District. Preferred Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/ or abilities required :KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Organizational skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to work effectively under pressure and stress; Ability to move or carry objects weighing over 50 pounds; Ability to crouch, crawl, bend, or kneel to service computers and network equipment; Must have a high level of initiative, independence interpersonal and strong teamwork skills. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEXAMPLE OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technology support in an educational setting, including but not limited to, installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading hardware and software. Resolve issues through phone, email, remote control, or classroom/office visits. Develop and test various hardware/software solutions that can work for and can be implemented and used at little to no cost to the district. Simple troubleshooting such as checking any loose connections, cleaning devices, and identifying user error. Exchanging broken peripherals such as keyboards, document cameras, and cables.Additional Duties and Responsibilities Physical Activity :
The position may require infrequent lifting, pulling or pushing during the normal performance of the tasks and responsibilities. Work may require frequent sitting, walking, and standing in an office environment. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of a Secretary, at a minimum, the essential functions of the position.Work Environment :
