Overview:
The IT Field Technician is responsible to provide the technical labor in the field to complete customers installs. This includes installation/configuration and setup of desktop PC's, laser printers, Self-Checkout POS registers, blade servers, UPS battery backups, scanner scales, WIFI access points, network racks and stacks (Routers, firewalls and Switches, Power systems, Cradle Point Satellite) for new locations and remodels.
Skills:
Basic troubleshooting of computer hardware and software issues Installation, configuration and setup of desktops, laser printers, and peripherals Knowledge of Point-of-Sale hardware a Plus Familiarity with Windows operating systems Basic PC maintenance (installing RAM, replacing hard drives, cleaning systems) Understanding of basic networking concepts (Wi-Fi setup, routers, IP basics) Cable management and workstation setup Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Ability to follow technical instructions and repair guides Ability to read technical manuals and schematics What we are looking for: Strong attention to detail and organization Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills Strong customer service and communication skills Time management and ability to handle multiple tasks Willingness to learn new technologies and tools Valid state driver's license Ability to pass RMV check
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Coursework or training in IT, computer repair, or related field (preferred) Entry-level certifications (a plus), such as: CompTIA A+ (or currently pursuing) Basic hands-on experience through school, labs, personal projects, or internship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and eager to develop technical skills Ability to Travel Ability to work overnights and days as needed
