FullTime Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary This position partners with faculty to design and implement custom software and data management solutions tailored to specific humanities research goals. The specialist also leads an intensive summer workshop, providing direct training and project mentorship to a large cohort of student fellows. Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides practical technical mentorship and training for graduate and undergraduate students working on faculty research projects. This is particularly important during the eight weeks of an intensive digital humanities summer program. Meets with faculty to understand academic goals and translates those requirements into technical plans for software and data management. Builds, modifies, and deploys both custom programs and shared open-source software to meet the evolving needs of various research projects. Organizes and manages research data across multiple formats and disciplines, ensuring data is structured for long-term project goals. Maintains server environments, manages user permissions, and utilizes version control and testing to ensure software reliability. Partners with various university departments and assists with occasional internal administrative applications to support campus workflows. Perform other duties as assigned.
