Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking dependable IT Technicians for a temporary public sector assignment in Fort Lauderdale, FL, supporting mission-critical technology operations during the election cycle. This role is ideal for detail-oriented IT professionals with strong desktop support skills, solid computer proficiency, and the flexibility to work extended schedules when needed. As an IT Technician, you will work in a structured, business casual office environment where accuracy, professionalism, and teamwork are essential. This assignment offers the opportunity to contribute to an important community-focused operation while working alongside a supportive technology team, following established procedures, and gaining hands-on experience with election-related systems and equipment. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide desktop service and technical support for IT operations during the temporary election cycle assignment.
  • Assist with setup, movement, troubleshooting, and support of computer hardware, peripherals, and election-related equipment.
  • Follow established procedures to complete assigned IT tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform data entry, documentation, and basic administrative support using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Support operational needs during regular hours, extended hours, evenings, and weekends as required.
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail in a fast-paced public sector environment. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay rate: $22.00 per hour.
  • Job type: Contract/Temporary.
  • Assignment dates: September 21, 2026, through November 10, 2026.
  • Regular schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Extended schedule: May include extended hours, evenings, weekends, and schedules of up to seven days per week based on operational needs during the election cycle.
  • Work environment: Business casual office environment. Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Provide IT technician support for desktop service, computer equipment, and operational technology needs.
  • Assist with election equipment setup, movement, basic troubleshooting, and procedural support.
  • Perform computer-based tasks including Microsoft Office work, Outlook communication, Excel updates, Word documents, and data entry.
  • Support extended election cycle operations with reliability, accuracy, and flexibility.
  • Must be available to work the full temporary assignment from September 21, 2026, through November 10, 2026, without planned interruptions.
  • Must be available to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and extended weekend schedules as operationally required.
  • 2 plus years of relevant IT, desktop support, technical support, or related experience preferred for this level.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and data entry.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds of election equipment during the workday.
  • Must demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures.
  • Must be able to learn new tasks quickly in a structured operational environment.
  • Must successfully complete and clear required background screening and drug screening before the assignment start date. Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior desktop support or help desk experience
  • Experience supporting hardware setup, equipment movement, peripherals, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong ability to work under deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Flexible availability during peak operational periods.
