PART-TIME
Network IT Support Specialist position for our Network of Schools.
Description:
The IT Support Technician will be responsible for overseeing IT asset management, handling helpdesk tickets, and supporting various ad-hoc IT projects within the school. This role is critical in ensuring that the district's technology infrastructure is efficiently maintained, secure, and aligned with educational needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in IT support, asset management, or helpdesk roles preferred. Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively. Knowledge of hardware, software, and networking fundamentals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. Experience with IT asset management tools and ticketing systems is a plus. Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Asset Management:
Track and manage all IT hardware and software assets, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with district policies. Maintain inventory records for devices such as laptops, desktops, tablets, and network equipment. Assist with the procurement, allocation, and distribution of IT assets to staff and students. Conduct regular audits to ensure asset tracking accuracy and prepare reports for management.
Helpdesk Support:
Monitor and respond to helpdesk tickets, providing first-line support for IT-related issues. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues and escalate complex problems to senior IT staff. Provide clear and timely communication to users regarding issue resolution and service requests. Maintain a knowledge base for recurring issues and resolutions to improve help desk efficiency.
Cybersecurity Support:
Respond to and resolve cybersecurity-related helpdesk tickets, including issues related to phishing, malware, and data security. Ensure that all cybersecurity protocols are followed, and assist in the implementation of security best practices across district systems. Collaborate with district cybersecurity professionals to stay updated on emerging threats and assist in the deployment of security measures.
Ad-Hoc IT Projects:
Assist in the planning, implementation, and execution of various IT projects as assigned by management. Contribute to technology upgrades, system migrations, and software deployments. Support efforts to improve the overall efficiency, security, and functionality of the district's IT infrastructure.
