A Computer Repair Technician provides computer repair and maintenance services for a company or to individual customers. Diagnoses technical problems, repairs computers, monitors and other equipment and installs software. May work for a repair service or business or electronics retail store.

Examination is announced to establish an employment list to fill 1 vacancy in the Information Systems department and future vacancies as they occur to install, diagnose, repair, replace and maintain computer hardware, network, network devices, cabling and telephone equipment and peripherals for the City.
Minimum Applicant Qualifications:
Vocational/Technical training with emphasis in computer technology, computer repair, or computer programming; supplemented by two (2) years of experience in hardware and software diagnostics and repair; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid driver's license. Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver's license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.

00 AM to 5:00 PM Kind of Examination This examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, a performance test or any combination thereof deemed necessary to adequately screen and rank applicants. Examination notices will be sent out via email if one is provided on the application, otherwise, acceptable applicants will receive a letter in the mail with a testing date, time, and location. Applicants must supply complete and accurate information concerning their previous training and experience including a detailed description of their work experience, the names and addresses of all previous employers and the dates of employment.
