We work on everything from everyday laptop and desktop repairs to custom gaming PCs, data recovery, upgrades, Mac repairs, and IT support for local businesses. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a small company and help it grow , not someone who only wants to perform one specific task. Because we are a small shop, everyone helps where needed. Some days you may be replacing a laptop screen or troubleshooting a gaming PC. Other days you may be answering phones, helping a customer at the counter, checking on a parts order, delivering a repaired computer, helping set up equipment at a local business, cleaning the shop, assembling a desk, or helping improve the workspace. We are looking for someone dependable who is comfortable stepping up and taking care of things even when they aren't necessarily part of their normal daily routine. Primary Responsibilities Computer Repair & Technical Work Diagnose and repair Windows laptops and desktops Troubleshoot hardware and software problems Build, upgrade, and repair custom PCs and gaming computers Replace laptop screens Replace batteries Replace keyboards and touchpads Replace hard drives, SSDs, RAM, fans, cooling systems, and other internal components Perform Windows installations, resets, updates, driver installations, and system setup Remove malware, viruses, unwanted programs, and pop-ups Perform computer cleanups and preventative maintenance Assist with data backups, transfers, cloning, and basic data recovery Troubleshoot boot problems, overheating, performance issues, and hardware failures Work on MacBooks and Apple computers when experience allows Test repaired computers thoroughly before returning them to customers Customer Service Answer incoming phone calls Speak with customers at the front counter Listen to customers and clearly document their computer problems Explain repairs in a way customers can understand Contact customers with repair updates Call or message customers when parts arrive or when repairs are completed Help customers understand repair options and expected costs Maintain professional and friendly communication with customers Parts & Repair Management Help identify and order correct replacement parts Research compatible screens, batteries, keyboards, chargers, drives, and other components Keep track of parts that have been ordered Follow up on delayed or backordered parts Keep customers updated on the status of their parts and repairs Help keep repair jobs organized and properly documented Make sure completed systems are tested, cleaned, and ready for pickup General Shop Responsibilities Since we are a small business, this position also includes helping keep the shop running.

This can include:

Cleaning and organizing workbenches Sweeping and cleaning the shop Taking out trash and recycling Organizing parts, tools, cables, and inventory Breaking down boxes and packaging Helping move computers, monitors, desks, and equipment Occasionally assembling desks, shelving, workbenches, or shop furniture Occasionally helping paint, organize, or improve the shop Helping with incoming inventory and equipment Keeping the customer and repair areas clean and presentable You will not be expected to spend all day cleaning or doing maintenance work, but everyone in a small business needs to be willing to help when something needs to get done. Off-Site & Business Support Occasionally, you may also be asked to: Pick up computers from customers Drop off completed computers Visit a customer's home for computer setup or troubleshooting Visit local businesses for computer or IT support Help install or replace computers, monitors, printers, networking equipment, or other technology Assist with small business workstation setups and upgrades Because occasional local travel may be required, a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are strongly preferred. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in computers who can continue learning as they work.

Ideal candidates should have:

Approximately 1-2 years of hands-on computer repair, IT, or PC-building experience Strong understanding of PC hardware Experience troubleshooting Windows problems Experience building or upgrading desktop computers Experience taking apart and repairing laptops Basic understanding of SSDs, RAM, CPUs, GPUs, motherboards, cooling systems, and power supplies Ability to safely work with delicate laptop components and connectors Familiarity with MacBook or Apple repair is a plus Good communication skills Comfortable speaking with customers in person and over the phone Ability to research problems and find solutions when the answer isn't immediately obvious Ability to stay organized while handling multiple repair jobs Attention to detail Willingness to learn new repairs and technologies Ability to work independently when needed Most importantly, you must be dependable . 12:00 PM-5:00 PM These days and hours are the core schedule we specifically need covered. There may also be occasional additional hours or days between the normal scheduled days depending on workload, business appointments, computer pickups/drop-offs, large projects, or employee availability. Typical hours will be approximately 15-25 hours per week. The Right Person for This Job This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys computers but also understands what working for a small business is like. We want someone who can see that something needs to be done and help take care of it. That might mean fixing a laptop one minute and answering the phone the next. It might mean helping a customer carry a desktop to their car, checking where a customer's replacement screen is, cleaning up the repair bench, delivering a computer, or helping install computers at a local business. We are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of the company as we continue to grow. There is room to learn more advanced repairs, customer service, custom PC building, small business IT support, networking, and other areas of the business over time.
