Job Description

We are looking for a Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst to provide onsite technical support in Lewiston, Maine within the printing and publishing industry. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for an early-career IT specialist who enjoys hands-on desktop support, device preparation, and assisting users in a fast-paced office environment. The role focuses on delivering reliable day-to-day IT service, resolving routine technical issues, and ensuring workstations and related equipment are ready for business use.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, image, and deploy desktop computers, laptops, and peripheral devices for end users across the site. Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, and Windows-related issues to minimize interruptions to daily operations. Set up workstations, install approved applications, and replace equipment as needed to support employee productivity. Record incidents, service requests, completed tasks, and issue resolutions accurately within the service desk ticketing system. Route more advanced or unresolved technical problems to senior IT team members with clear documentation and supporting details. Maintain up-to-date inventory records for devices, accessories, and deployment activity to support asset tracking. Provide responsive onsite assistance to employees while following established support procedures and documentation standards. Contribute to general desktop support and operational IT tasks as assigned by the team. Assist with user account support and basic administrative tasks in environments utilizing Active Directory. At least 1 year of experience in help desk, desktop support, or a similar IT support role. Technical training in information technology or comparable hands-on experience supporting end-user computing environments. Familiarity with Windows operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 10, desktop hardware, and common peripheral devices. Practical experience with device imaging, PC setup, software installation, and basic troubleshooting techniques. Ability to manage service desk tickets with accurate updates, clear notes, and timely follow-through. Working knowledge of Active Directory in support of basic user or workstation-related tasks. Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills in an onsite support setting. Organized work habits with the ability to balance multiple requests while maintaining attention to detail.
