Job Description

We are looking for a Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst to support a short-term Contract assignment in Rochester, Michigan. This role will focus on assisting a large-scale PC deployment for approximately 350 users by preparing and configuring Windows-based laptops and desktops in a centralized setup environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on desktop support experience, communicates well with end users, and can efficiently handle device setup, application installation, and basic troubleshooting while working with a broader support team.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, image, and configure desktop and laptop systems for end-user deployment in a high-volume rollout environment. Support users during scheduled device pickup and setup sessions conducted from a central conference room location. Install standard applications, apply required settings, and confirm devices are ready for immediate business use. Perform basic troubleshooting for Windows-related issues, peripheral connectivity, and common desktop support concerns. Update and manage service desk tickets to document completed work, open issues, and follow-up actions. Assist with user account and access support tasks involving Active Directory and standard desktop configurations. Coordinate with the broader IT team to keep deployment activities on schedule and escalate issues when needed. Provide support related to system and device changes associated with the organization's ongoing environment transition. Help maintain an organized deployment process that enables the rollout to be completed within the planned project timeline. 3-5 years of experience in help desk, desktop support, or a similar end-user support role. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, including Windows 10 and Windows 11. Experience with basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, and desktop configuration issues. Familiarity with Active Directory for routine user and system support activities. Ability to install standard applications and prepare devices for end-user use. Experience handling or updating service desk tickets in a support environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to assist users in a detail-oriented, organized manner.
