Basic related to configuration, installation and maintenance
Create & Design:
Student worker schedules, basic web content
Monitor:
Technologies via available pre-configured monitoring tools
Lead/Team Role:
No "lead" role but may organize and train student workers Examples of Work Performed Work in a collaborative environment with a team of IT professionals, contributing your experience and expertise to accomplish the strategic IT goals of Wayne State College. Performs a variety of professional duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the Network and Technology Services (NATS) department. Provides tier 2 troubleshooting of related technologies for incidents not resolved during first point of contact at the tier 1 Service Center. Assists Network Operations team members with daily operational activities supporting existing technical services provided to the campus community. Focus will include activities within, but not limited to residence life room management system, identity access management system, campus phone system, campus data reporting system, inventory management, Foundational Cloud Support activities, including assisting with basic AWS services, monitoring and documentation. Installs, configures, and supports audio and video systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and other campus facilities, including displays, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems. Maintaining and Modernizing applications. This is a full-time staff position within the Network Operations team in the Network and Technology Services (NATS) Department. This position collaborates daily with NATS team members, vendors, campus employees and students. Activities performed by this position include but are not limited to the following below. Assist with network infrastructure data cable installation and maintenance as needed. Maintain equipment inventory for IT hardware. Assist with residence life room management system documented processes for term rollovers. Assist with the identity access management system group membership updates as requested. Assist with campus phone system phone configurations and monthly phone bill process(es). Assist with setup, configuration, and management of the campus event management system software Assist with investigation of fraudulent applications for admission to the institution Assist monthly with executing existing campus data reports. Assist with foundation cloud support activities (AWS, Azure) Assist with installation, configuration and support of audio and video systems Assist with identity access management authentication system (Shib, DUO, Entra, ADFS) Assist maintaining and modernizing servers, term rollover, processes, documentation (HVAC, Keys systems, Keystone, Mailout, Papercut) Collaborate with supervisor, CIO, and NATS team members to coordinate and document primary and secondary responsibilities for software, hardware, process, activity, or other support requirements necessary to maintain availability of services to the campus community according to the IT Business Continuity plan. Mentor NATS student workers for completion of lower-level tasks that are repeatable, documented, and auditable. Collaborate with Client Services team, Service Center, and campus stakeholders to improve incident, problem, and request management processes. Provide training and support to WSC faculty and staff as needed. Engage IT leadership to communicate status and manage priorities regarding work assignments. Participate in change control processes and meetings. Other duties as assigned that are pertinent to the goals and mission of the IT department and the college. Required Qualifications Associate degree in related field or two years' related work experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in related field.
