30PM roughly 15-30 hours a week Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, technically curious individual to provide day-to-day computer support for our employees. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone who is naturally comfortable with technology, enjoys solving problems, and wants to gain practical experience in a professional IT environment. Previous professional IT experience and technical certifications are not required. We are willing to teach the right person and provide opportunities for continued technical training, including an employer-paid IT certification. The right candidate does not need to know every answer. However, they must be willing and able to investigate unfamiliar problems, search for reliable information, test reasonable solutions, and ask thoughtful questions when assistance is needed. Primary Responsibilities Provide first-line technical support to employees experiencing routine computer, software, printer, and peripheral issues Troubleshoot Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams Diagnose common issues involving monitors, keyboards, mice, docks, printers, scanners, webcams, and other office equipment Assist with basic user account, password, email, and access-related requests Set up and prepare computers and equipment for new or existing employees Install approved software, updates, and peripherals Document reported problems, troubleshooting performed, and final resolutions Recognize when an issue requires escalation and clearly communicate what has already been investigated Maintain basic inventory and organization of IT equipment and supplies Follow company security, confidentiality, and acceptable-use requirements Support the IT Manager with other routine technical and administrative tasks as needed Required Qualifications Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 Genuine proficiency with common Microsoft 365 applications—not merely familiarity with opening them General computer literacy, including files and folders, browsers, downloads, software installation, settings, and basic device configuration Ability to approach technical problems logically and try appropriate troubleshooting steps Professional curiosity and the initiative to research unfamiliar issues independently Ability to distinguish trustworthy technical information from questionable internet advice Clear verbal and written communication skills Patience when assisting users with different levels of technical ability Dependability, professionalism, and respect for confidential information Ability to document work clearly and follow established procedures Willingness to accept feedback, learn new systems, and ask for help after making a reasonable effort Preferred—but Not Required Personal, academic, volunteer, or informal experience troubleshooting computers Experience setting up Windows computers, printers, monitors, or other office technology Familiarity with basic networking concepts, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, SharePoint, or business software Coursework, self-study, or an interest in pursuing a career in information technology Customer service or help-desk experience What Success Looks Like A successful person in this role will: Take ownership of routine support requests and follow them through to resolution Investigate problems before immediately escalating them Search documentation and other reliable resources when they do not know an answer Explain technical information clearly and respectfully Learn from previous issues and apply that knowledge when similar problems arise Know when to continue troubleshooting and when an issue should be escalated Help reduce interruptions by becoming a reliable first point of contact for everyday IT needs What We Offer Hands-on experience supporting users and technology in a real business environment Direct mentoring and practical IT training Exposure to business systems, cybersecurity practices, networking, Microsoft 365, and IT operations Employer-paid training toward an approved entry-level IT certification An opportunity to build meaningful experience for a future IT support or systems career Physical and Workplace Requirements Ability to work on-site and respond to support needs throughout the facility Ability to move, connect, and set up typical computer equipment Ability to occasionally work beneath desks or in other limited-access areas to connect or troubleshoot equipment Ability to lift and carry up to [25/35] pounds ITAR / Export Control Requirement This position requires access to information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
