Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and motivated Part-Time Entry-Level IT Support Technician to assist our IT department with day-to-day technology support across our automotive dealership locations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone beginning a career in Information Technology who wants hands-on experience supporting users, computers, printers, phones, networks, and other technology in a fast-paced business environment. The technician will work directly with dealership employees and the IT team to troubleshoot technical issues, prepare and deploy equipment, perform basic installations, and help maintain reliable technology throughout the dealerships. Because this position may require traveling between dealership locations, a valid driver's license is required.
Fixed Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday Duties Provide first-level technical support to dealership employees. Troubleshoot Windows computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, docking stations, and other peripherals. Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. Troubleshoot printers, scanners, multifunction devices, and basic printing issues. Assist with password resets, account access, and basic user login issues. Set up and deploy computers, monitors, phones, printers, and other IT equipment. Prepare workstations for new employees and assist with employee onboarding. Assist with removing, collecting, and documenting equipment when employees leave the organization. Install approved software and perform basic software troubleshooting. Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including wired connections, Wi-Fi, network cabling, and connectivity issues. Assist the IT team with hardware replacements, workstation upgrades, and technology projects. Maintain accurate records of IT equipment and inventory. Document work performed and update IT support tickets. Move and install IT equipment at different dealership locations as needed. Escalate security concerns, suspicious emails, malware alerts, or other cybersecurity issues to senior IT staff. Follow company IT, cybersecurity, acceptable-use, and data-protection policies. Perform other IT-related duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Interest in pursuing a career in Information Technology. Basic understanding of Windows computers and common computer hardware. Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications. Comfortable troubleshooting technology and learning new systems. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to follow technical instructions and established procedures. Dependable, organized, and able to work independently when necessary. Ability to safely lift and move computers, monitors, printers, and related IT equipment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be able to travel between dealership locations when required. Preferred Qualifications Previous professional IT experience is not required. The following are helpful but can also be learned on the job: Coursework, technical school, or college studies related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Networking. CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar entry-level certification. Experience building, repairing, or troubleshooting computers. Familiarity with Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID. Basic understanding of TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, switches, and network cabling. Experience with help desk or ticketing systems. Previous customer-service experience. Experience working in an automotive dealership is helpful but not required. What We Are Looking For! The right candidate does not need to know everything on day one. The technician will primarily work inside automotive dealership facilities and may occasionally work in service departments, equipment rooms, network closets, or other operational areas. The position may require driving between dealership locations to install equipment, troubleshoot issues, or assist other members of the IT team.
